An early issue of "Somerset Studio" magazine sparked Sandy's own interest in rubberstamping and within months, she made the business decision to open her store in April of 1998. Sandy's longtime friend and previous business partner, Jim Barry, helped her set up shop, but left soon after for a one-year sabbatical. During that time, he says he "came to his senses" and returned to "the wood" - rubber wood, that is. They have been working together ever since.

Most rubber stamp stores tend to focus on a central theme and many do not stay in business for very long. Sandy's Corner overcomes crafty trends by featuring both current and classical stamps, unique art supplies and ephemera, as well as offering specialty classes by local and national artists.
